Three Thoughts: Rutgers 76, St. Francis Brooklyn 73

St. Francis Brooklyn led numerous times at the RAC against Big Ten opponent Rutgers in a back-and-forth show in the second half. The Terriers ended up losing 76-73 in the final seconds though after a missed three point shot by Brent Jones, when St. Francis was only down by two. Q&A with Casual Hoya on Georgetown/Robert Morris

On the second Saturday of the season, Georgetown will host their second NEC program in the young season, Robert Morris. The Hoyas have made easy work of their first two opponents in St. Francis Brooklyn (that writeup is here) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi, so the Colonials enter as heavy underdogs (a 5% chance of winning according to KenPom). Three Thoughts: Army 74, St. Francis Brooklyn 71

Army led by as many as 12 points at the Pope Center on Wednesday night, but a late run closed the gap for St. Francis Brooklyn and gave Brent Jones a decent look from three to tie the game. Unfortunately that attempt clanged off the left rim. Army moved to 3-0 on the young season, while the Terriers fell to 0-2.

Three Thoughts: Columbia 70, Wagner 56

After a last-second loss to Stony Brook to start the season Columbia welcomed Wagner to Levien Gymnasium on Tuesday night. The Lions were still without a number of key players due to injury and went almost 10.5 minutes in the second half without a field goal, but managed to pull out a 14-point victory over an inexperienced Wagner squad. Maturing Saint Francis University Falls To American

After dropping their season opener against a more athletic and talented Cincinnati squad, Saint Francis University (SFU) admirably stood toe to toe with the defending Patriot League champions before falling in defeat after Dominique Major’s three-pointer at the buzzer clanged off the back of the rim. It was a difficult loss, considering the Red Flash had three possessions late to either tie or take the lead, but with all things considered, Rob Krimmel wasn’t too disappointed with the final outcome.
