There’s a lot of traffic around the inbounder and Marcus Burton falls down and Mike Aaman gets stuck leaving Zarko Valjarevic with a great look for the win. Of course Wagner could’ve avoided even being in that situation by making one more play down the stretch. Greg Senat missed the front-end of a one-and-one in the prior possession and Valjarevic actually missed his first attempt for the win, but the ball went out off Wagner giving Walsh the opportunity to set up the game-winning play. Burton scored 25 points and Aaman had 15 points and 11 rebounds in his second game since being declared eligible by the NCAA. The Seahawks play at Lafayette on Saturday.
This certainly isn’t the first game for a New York school that featured an important baseline out-of-bounds (or BLOB) play. Ray Curren wrote about how Manhattan used them so effectively in the Jaspers’ near miss against UMass earlier this season.
