Three Tempo-Free MAAC Thoughts
This is a quick wrap up of some things I’ve been meaning to write about from around the MAAC, since I haven’t gotten a chance to because Vincent and Ryan Restivo have been killing it on the beat. For more of their work check out the MAAC page. Continue reading “Three Tempo-Free MAAC Thoughts”
Mount St. Mary’s: A Half-Court Defensive Juggernaut?
While you may chuckle at the very thought of Mount St. Mary’s as a defensive stalwart in the NEC, I was asking myself this very question last Thursday, as the Mount led the visiting Pioneers in the second half, 39-30. Continue reading “Mount St. Mary’s: A Half-Court Defensive Juggernaut?”
Northeastern Tops William & Mary In Shootout
When it visited William & Mary last month, Northeastern shot 2-20 from beyond the arc, its worst performance of the season. Three Thoughts: Iona 60, Quinnipiac 57 (Gaels And Defense?)
That gutty, gritty Iona defense – as John Sterling might muse.
Wait, what? Continue reading “Three Thoughts: Iona 60, Quinnipiac 57 (Gaels And Defense?)”
Three Thoughts: St. Francis Brooklyn 71, Sacred Heart 62
Perhaps the only thing with more of a consensus in the NEC than Jalen Cannon winning Player of the Year is Glenn Braica being the guy fellow coaches would love to see win if they can’t. But even Braica – one of the best guys in college basketball – can sometimes reach, maybe not a breaking point, let’s call it a bending point.
