Three Thoughts: Saint Peter’s 69, Siena 55
Jimmy Patsos can be an acquired taste and while he’s nowhere near being in jeopardy of losing his job (despite what Ronnie might tell you next time you go to Draddy Gym), there is pressure at Siena that he never felt in his nine years at Loyola (MD).
There just aren’t any other programs that are going to draw 6,244 people to watch them play, let alone on a Sunday afternoon against a team near the bottom of the MAAC standings. And Siena fans don’t need long memories to remember the three consecutive MAAC titles from 2008-2010, which also included the last two NCAA Tournament victories for the conference (over Vanderbilt and Ohio State).

Three Thoughts: Siena 88, Quinnipiac 67
Siena opened MAAC play Friday evening with a resounding 88-67 victory over Quinnipiac to start 1-0 in the conference. After dropping a difficult two-point road loss at Fordham earlier in the week, the Saints looked to be headed to another close game as they entered halftime leading the Bobcats by just two – 40-38. However, Siena blew the doors open early in the second half and never let Quinnipiac get close. Here are three thoughts from Friday evening’s victory:

Three Thoughts: Fordham 69, Siena 67
Siena, who trailed by as many as 13, had a chance to tie the game with just seconds left. Patrick Cole drove the ball and tossed it down low to Brett Bisping, The 6’8” junior went up with it, but it was blocked by freshman Eric Paschall to end the game and Siena’s chance at a tie.
