The final week of the regular season is suddenly upon us. With the MAAC tournament in Albany quickly approaching, the final order of finish is beginning to take shape. Rider pulled out a thrilling victory over Canisius this weekend to retain its hold on the top spot in this week’s rankings, while an injury to Niagara’s Matt Scott could shift the landscape of the league. MAAC Weekly Recap & Power Rankings – January 31
It was an eventful week in the MAAC, and one full of rivalry games. The Battle of the Bridge was renewed in Buffalo, the New Jersey trio squared off against one another in the Hourglass rivalry, Fairfield and Quinnipiac met for the first time this season, along with Iona and Manhattan, and I’m pretty sure Siena and Saint Peter’s don’t want to see each other again for a long time. The second week of MAAC play brought as many surprises as the first. Siena

Siena 81, Iona 79: The Return of Nico Clareth
As they say, it’s like déjà vu all over again. In a scene reminiscent of their win in New Rochelle last season, Siena stormed back from a 13 point second half deficit to upend Iona 81-79 Tuesday night. Continue reading “Siena 81, Iona 79: The Return of Nico Clareth”
