Fairfield Gets Career Day From Tyler Nelson To Snap Losing Skid
Fairfield freshman Tyler Nelson grabbed the transition pass from K.J. Rose as he sat near the left corner. Quickly came a flying Tyler Gaskins, who missed a transition layup seconds before to cover his man, the Saint Peter’s junior flew at the Stags shooter. Nelson calmly pump faked, waited for the junior to pass by, and then drained a three-pointer to put the Stags up 45-36. Marist’s Chavaughn Lewis Did It His Way, With No Regrets
Chavaughn Lewis’ career at Marist will go down as one of the most unique in school history, in plenty of ways. On Feb. 8 he passed Rik Smits for second all-time in scoring, leaving him just shy of Steve Smith for the school record in points.
