Yale 83, Cornell 52: Longest Win Streak in 59 Years For Bulldogs
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Cornell’s plan was pretty simple, really. After all, the Big Red’s biggest strength – pressure defense at a high tempo – coincided with Yale’s seemingly glaring weakness – turning the ball over at an alarming rate.
It worked for a few minutes, Makai Mason’ offensive foul was Yale’s fifth turnover just 7:36 in, and Cornell’s bench was jumping as the Bulldogs looked frustrated.

Cornell 77, Harvard 65: Morgan Leads Big Red In Upset
The stretch run of Friday night’s game at Lavietes Pavilion featured Cornell and Harvard’s stars doing what they do best. Matt Morgan pulled up for NBA-range three-pointers; Zena Edosomwan answered with ferocious dunks. What Happened Last Week: Harvard gave No. 4 Kansas a scare in Lawrence, erasing a 13-point deficit in the second half before losing by six points. With three days until the start of the new season, let’s break down some national projections for the Ivy League:
Three Thoughts: Yale 62, Cornell 51 (Happy Birthday, Coach Jones!)
As much as we like numbers, they sometimes don’t tell the whole story or accurately predict a snapshot in time, i.e. a 40-minute basketball game over the course of a fairly long season.
Friday night, though, one look at the stat sheet – or more appropriately, the KenPom numbers – could have given you a pretty good idea of what was going to happen between Yale and Cornell. The Big Red entered with some stellar defensive numbers that worried the Bulldogs, 69th nationally in defensive efficiency, 34th in eFG%.
