Three Questions – St. Peter’s
Every team has questions going into the season. This series has been looking at three key ones for every team in the area. Today, St. Peter’s is in the crosshairs.
1. How far will the Peacocks fall in the MAAC? — Last season the Peacocks finished fourth in the MAAC during the regular season. Upsets over Fairfield and Iona in the conference tournament allowed them to reach the NCAA Tournament. But last season was a veteran team led by seniors Jaron Belin, Ryan Bacon and Wesley Jenkins. The 2011-12 version is obviously going to look a lot different, but the coaches poll seems to think the results will be similar. St. Peter’s was picked fifth in the preseason.

Another look at Dunne’s extension
Keepin’ Track of the MAAC’s Steve Amedio does an absolutely fantastic job covering the league as a whole. His latest is about John Dunne’s new extension at St. Peter’s and I’d recommend checking it out.
John Dunne gets extension at St. Peter’s
St. Peter’s gave head coach John Dunne an extension on Thursday of last week. The contract is a reward for taking the Peacocks to the NCAA Tournament before falling to Purdue in the first round.
Dunne has proven over the past two seasons that he really understands what it takes to have a strong defensive team and the better a team plays on defense the better chance it has to win games. (Points for obviousness on that one.)
