10,000 Sims: Canisius Surprises MAAC
Coming into the season Canisius wasn’t well regarded by most human prognosticators or the computers. Everyone knew that Jim Baron was going to have a lot of talent, but how it would come together was a big unknown. Well now Canisius is the only 2-0 team after the December weekend of conference play and appears to be in the driver’s seat for conference play.
Fast Start Helps Columbia Defeat Manhattan

Christmas Week: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly MAAC Recap
Exams are over and basketball is back in full swing. With lots of MAAC action this week there was lots to pick from for this week’s good, bad and ugly categories. Apologies to Loyola (MD) and Marist. Siena Working to Find Answers in NYC
Siena found itself in New York City again after an 11-day break following a 20-point loss at Manhattan. Back in the Bronx, the Fordham Rams exploited the defensive problems of the Saints early and even though the Siena offense showed up with an explosive run it could not complete the comeback in an 81-75 loss Sunday. Fordham rode an impressive first half performance on offense to an 81-75 victory over Siena on Sunday at Rose Hill. Chris Gaston scored 25 points for the Rams and Branden Frazier had 20 points and 10 assists. The win pushed Fordham’s record to 3-9. Here are some photos from the game.
