CAA Predictions: Drexel will be hard to beat
Brian Mull released his predicted CAA standings over at The Dub Hub this week. I think he’s got some really good points, but we disagree on a few teams in the standings. There’s just one team we really disagree on. It happens to be the one he covers, so maybe I’m the one that’s crazy. The other two? Hofstra and Georgia State, which Brian has two places lower in both cases. Check out his full rankings here.

Previewing the previews: Athlon
Yesterday we looked at Lindy’s, the Athlon projections are a little lighter in substance, but also in general match up a bit better with the general consensus.
Hofstra jumping into the transfer game
A quick note that it’s interesting to see Hofstra jumping back into the transfer game by signing Shaq Stokes, formerly of Hawaii. The point guard from Coney Island is going to apply for a hardship waiver and try to play immediately. It’d be a nice addition for the Pride and would just make them loaded with transfers trying to figure out how to play together.
NEC sets record high in attendance
Attendance results are out for the 2012 NCAA Men’s Basketball season. The results aren’t too surprising, but there is good news for the NEC. The conference set a record high in attendance during the 2012 season attracting 1,353 fans per game, an increase of 116 fans per game over last season. Of course the NEC is still 31st amongst the 31 automatic bid conferences, 121 fans per game behind the Big South, but that’s still a solid gain.

Since there are no real basketball games going on right now, let’s do something fun and talk about simulated basketball games. Thoughts about three key CAA issues
The CAA sure knows how to stay in the news. The conference is starting a new television deal, changing up its membership, strengthening its rules and staying on the front of minds of college basketball fans all over the country. Part of that has been the conference’s decision and some of it is beyond their control, but let’s look at a few key issues the league is currently dealing with.
