STATEN ISLAND – One of the youngest teams in the country is going dancing.
Greg Herenda’s Fairleigh Dickinson Knights, who are the fourth youngest team in America, held off Wagner 87-79 in the NEC championship game on Tuesday night to clinch their berth into the NCAA tournament.
Sophomores Darian Anderson and tournament MVP Earl Potts combined for 55 of the team’s 87 on the night and helped their head coach reach the NCAA tournament in just his third season on the job.
The Knights have won 18 games this season, which equals their first two seasons combined.
