ALBANY – Iona became the thorn in Monmouth’s side on Monday night, as they became the first team this season to beat the Hawks twice.
Senior A.J. English led the Gaels with 20 points to take the MAAC Tournament MVP honors. Je’Lon Hornbeak led the Hawks with 21 points, but the combination of Justin Robinson and Micah Seaborn combined to shoot five for 16 from the field in the loss at the Times Union Center.
