Columbia came out shooting hot and got up by as many as 17, but Stony Brook stormed back with a 26-3 run to defeat the Lions and end their portion of non-conference play 9-4.
The comeback represents part of the end of one part of the season for the Seawolves as they enter America East play, where the conference’s top team earns the right to clinch their way to the NCAA tournament by playing at home. For the Lions, it is a tune up as they hit the grueling 14-game tournament of Ivy League play after two more non-conference games.
