Iona, Monmouth and Rider are all tied atop the MAAC standings at 6-2, but that doesn’t mean they had the best plays of the week. Here are the top plays of the week, animated, for the third week of 2015.

Fairfield beat Marist on Friday night, with plays like these by Stags junior Marcus Gilbert.

In the first of you make the call, this was called a foul on the floor against Niagara in the game’s final seconds. The Purple Eagles were up 79-78 with just over eight seconds left when English handled, and maybe lost handle, of the ball. You make the call.

The refs called a foul, English made two free throws, and the Gaels escaped with a 80-79 win, which did not make Niagara head coach Chris Casey particularly happy after postgame handshakes.

Marist and Quinnipiac were close in the games final seconds. Up 72-70, Quinnipiac defended a Khallid Hart drive to the basket, but Eric Troug came up with the offensive board. You make the call, was it a goal tend? The refs would give Evan Conti a foul with 0.1 seconds left, but Troug missed the first free throw and made the second. Marist fell 72-71 to the Bobcats and remain winless in MAAC play.
