This Week in America East GIFs: Jan. 12

Vermont and Albany are atop the America East standings with 3-0 records, but they will not meet for the first time until Jan. 28. Here are the plays from the first full week of 2015 America East conference play.

The Great Danes needed this play, with just over three seconds left, to deliver the winner over New Hampshire in their first road conference contest. So far, home teams have won seven of the first 12 games.

UMass Lowell’s Jahad Thomas stole the ball at the top of the key in the final seconds at UMBC, but senior Devarick Houston had other ideas when the freshman went for the layup.

Hartford opened up their home portion of conference play with a win over Binghamton, aided by Corban Wroe’s 18 points.

Daniel Dion has long range, as evidenced by his very deep three-pointer at home against Brown.

Vermont picked up a 71-57 victory over Stony Brook and below is a GIFy’cap of the action. Ethan O’Day led the way for the Catamounts, busting up the Seawolves inside with moves like these.

O’Day, though, got this drive stuffed by Stony Brook junior Jameel Warney in the first half.

The Catamounts proved to be too much, as shots like this from freshman Cam Ward were drained.

Freshmen contributed 21 of the team’s points, and the bench was happy for Ward’s three. Check out Ethan O’Day and Hector Harold celebrating from the bench.

Binghamton grabbed their first win, over Maine, on Sunday. Thanks to plays by freshman Willie Rodriguez, who scored a game-high 19 points, the Bearcats got their most convincing win of the year.
