There’s a new team atop the Power Poll this week. St. John’s has officially claimed the top spot. The Red Storm were voted No. 1 by each of our five voters this week. Iona, after beating Manhattan on Friday, received all five second place votes.
After that though things get awfully murky. In particular what do with Seton Hall. The Pirates received two third place votes, plus a fifth, a sixth and a ninth place vote. Yes, we don’t know what to with them either, but that win at Xavier was at least impressive to me.
Here’s the Power Poll (First Place Votes):
- St. John’s (5): 50 points
- Iona: 45 points
- Manhattan: 33 points
- Princeton: 31 points
- Stony Brook: 28 points
- Quinnipiac: 28 points
- Seton Hall: 27 points
- Columbia: 12 points
- St. Francis Brooklyn: 9 points
- Rider: 7 points
Also receiving votes: Fordham (3 points), Rutgers (1 point), Wagner (1 point)
I know who voted for a team that just lost to Memphis by 32 points. But I’m going to side with protecting the innocent. I also wrote about Manhattan and Rider in the Tempo-Free MAAC, so you can learn more about them there.
