I’ll have more about Wagner’s overtime loss to Delaware State tomorrow morning, but first I wanted to share this screen shot I took while looking to see how the Great West did tonight. Texas-Pan American and Utah Valley were both in action.
If you look at the top left-hand corner you’ll see that ESPN has designated the Great West “NCAA Division II” in their Scorecenter for iPad app. It’s bad enough that most of those teams will traverse the country during the next couple of weeks in order to fund their basketball programs and that they have little to no shot of qualifying for the NCAA tournament. This is just a degree of ignorance that quite frankly is a bit surprising. On a side note concerning the Great West, congratulations to Chris Flores of NJIT, who was named the GWC’s Player of the Week after his outstanding performance in the Highlanders’ close loss to Providence.

not sure which is worse, but Yahoo’s Sportacular App doesn’t list the Great West as existing at all. (Checked on both iOS and Android versions of the app) The Great West teams do show up under the all Division 1 listings.
Another Great West oddity, ESPN.com still has a scoreboard page for the Great West’s IAA football conference which was disbanded after last season.
